Dear Shane, I am so sorry for your loss. We have been praying for you and your family constantly. HUGS
We are heart broken by Josh's tragic passing and pray that the Lord's grace and mercy will sustain, comfort, and strengthen his family and friends through this most profound loss. I will forever remember his sweet face as he was in elementary school with his big blue eyes, quick smile, and respectful mannerism. May all who knew and loved him hold on to those special memories and to the love in your hearts that will live forever into eternity. Honor Josh by living your life well, in the service of others. God be with each of you today and always.
I remember coming to Lakeland in 2015 and kept hearing about this stud on our team Josh Brandt. He was talked about like a folk story legend, like a Paul Bunyan tale. I remember our first practice, looking fir this guy that I imagined to be 6'2 235lbs. Instead out walks this long haired kid that looked like a mix of Fabio and a yoga instructor.
His personality and heart were larger than the person I imagined to see walking out that day. Josh was a special kid, mild tempered, soft spoken, had an infectious smile. He was a better player than I expected, but even more than that he was a better person than I expected.
Josh was hard not to love and even when he would be this sarcastic pain in the rear you couldn't get mad at him, he had charm haha.
He was tough, a gamer, and fiercely loyal. I loved Josh from the first practice, I am so glad he was on our team.
I will miss him, and I can't imagine the pain for his family brought on by his loss.
I will keep you in my prayers, and will never forget how great of a person Josh is.
Much love for his family, and our Lakeland family through this time and moving forward.
I'm so sorry for your lost. He was an amazing young man.. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
My heart is broken for Joshua's family! I will always remember him as the little shy big beautiful blue eyed smiling little boy that would hide from me when I told him how cute he was and tease him of being my little boyfriend, oh so long ago yet seems like yesterday! He grew up so fast and into such a handsome man with that same smile and big blue eyes! Harvest I can't imagine your pain loosing your baby and I'm so so sorry but please know I'm here if you need anything at all and I will continue to be here as time goes on! All my love to his Grandma Dee who I love and adore and has been such a special part of my life, my second Momma and his wonderful uncle Eli and the rest of his family who is hurting so very much right now! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!! All our love, the Quirings
To the parents and everyone whose life was touched by Josh. Last year I was studying abroad at Lakeland and I met Josh on football practice, I was so heartbroken when I heard about him, probably like all of you ... He was such an inspirational guy, always trying to make people smile and he always did it. He will be always remembered, and my soul will always have a part of Josh in it. I send you all my condolences, my prayers and my love for this tough times

Josh was well loved. I will be praying for peace to come to all of his family and friends. My son Dustin is hurting too; he will never forget Josh. The loss of this wonderful young man will effect many.
Words just are not enough sometimes. I am so so sorry. May the Lord comfort you.
I didn't know Josh personally, but my life is touched by his because of the way he treated my two sons. My oldest son is a freshman at LHS and was honored to play football with Josh. As a freshman, Ammon was humbled that THE Josh Brandt literally put his arm around him, always asking how he was doing, wondering if he needed any help and just supporting him and making him feel needed and wanted. In addition, Josh always stopped at Ammon's locker and wished him a good day. This says a lot about Josh's amazing character...we need more kind-hearted sincere young men like this.
My second son is an 8th grader and loves to play basketball at Rathdrum Fitness. He often comes home frustrated that the older kids there don't give him the time of day or seem to want to share the ball. Josh, however, was always willing to pass the ball and even offer words of counsel to the younger players.
Thank you Josh for this example and for touching my boys' lives in such a positive way.
My heartfelt condolences go to all of his family and friends.
I didn't know Josh personally but my sons Chris Washburn Class of 2015 and Nick Washburn Class of 2017 did. I just want you to know that I am praying for Josh, your entire family and for all who knew him well. God bless you all and
I imagine there is no pain more far-reaching and deeper than losing a child. Words are not adequate to express our sympathy for each of you. It is obvious so many have been touched by his inviting personality and gentle heart. Hold all of the memories close and Joshua's light will always shine!.
