Ted Toll

December 23, 1942 — March 7, 2023

Ted has gone Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ileta, his mother Irene and father Henry. Ted leaves behind his daughter Lisa (Travis) Carey, three grandchildren: Aaron (Keisha) Thulon, Tyler Carey, Taylor Carey and one great-grandson, Joshua Thulon, his sister Kathy (Delbert) Hoyt, nephews Kris (Veronica) Hoyt, Kelly (Dedrie) Hoyt, nieces Terri (Knaus) Carper, Carla (Knaus) Peachie. And other family. Ted was a lifelong resident of Spokane, Washington. He worked many jobs in life. Notably his time at Honda City, Redeemer Lutheran Church and later in life at Cashlinq. In between he enjoyed a career in woodworking, a craft that he taught his youngest grandson, Tyler. His love of fishing he passed on to his oldest grandson, Aaron and his ear for music he shared with his granddaughter, Taylor and great-grandson, Joshua. His beloved wife went to be with Lord in 1992. He never married again, because she was the love of his life. Known for his quick witted sense of humor, his knack for telling it like it is and his generous spirit, all of these paled in comparison for his love of the Lord. Faithful in prayer and in reading & studying God’s Word, he was an encouragement to many. His great joy was the Gospel and ministering to and discipling with people. Ted made friends everywhere he went. He cared very much about people. He is deeply missed by his family, friends and church body. He leaves a big hole behind in many lives. Oh, but where he is at now! We as believers can only rejoice! He and Ileta repented and trusted in Jesus after the death of his mother, Irene in the 80’s. He knew firsthand how sad times like losing someone drives us to our knees. His only wish for those of you reading this who don’t know Jesus Christ of the Bible, is to be saved. To turn from your life of rebellion against the holy, perfect, good God and trust in His Son Jesus Christ, believing that He died on the cross in our place, taking our place and paying our due penalty for all our sin… and that He rose again on the third day, defeating sin, death and the devil and proving He is indeed who He says He is, Jesus Christ, Son of God - fully God and fully man. A service for Ted will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday, March 20, 2023, followed by a light luncheon also at Redeemer. It is the request of my dad that in lieu of flowers, to please make donations to either BSF International or to Redeemer Lutheran Church (quilters group or prayer ministry).
