Irene Nipp

July 27, 1956 — May 9, 2022

Juanita Irene Nipp, 65, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022, at her home in Post Falls, Idaho. She was born on July 27, 1956 in Montrose, Colorado, the daughter of Juan and Lillian (Jaramillo) Montano. She grew up in Colorado and Utah before moving to the Silver Valley. She graduated from Wallace High School and immediately began her 38-year career with the US Forest Service. Irene loved her Forest Service family; she was a mentor and friend to many of her co-workers. The Wallace Ranger Station is where she met the love of her life, Henry Nipp, Jr., they were married on July 17, 1976. Irene’s heart and passion was her family; her greatest joy was becoming a grandparent. She was happiest in their backyard, under the sun, reading a good book with a cold drink. She loved the Oregon Coast, snow birding in Mesquite, Nevada, family game nights, and their Spokane Indians games. Irene is survived by her two children: Ryan B. (Jenna) Nipp of Coeur d’Alene, and Jayme (Jim, Jr.) Nipp of Post Falls; her grandchildren: Bailey, Asher, Koryn, Skyler, Josslynn, and Jimmy, III; her sisters and brothers: Cora (Brent) Briggs, Jeri Beck, Sam Montano, Jeff Montano, Roberta (Bob) Perry, and Christopher Montano; her brother-in-laws: Lester (Sherry) Nipp, and Larry (Gina) Nipp. Irene is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, and Jerrod Beck. At Irene’s request there will be no funeral service. Her family is together, celebrating her life as she would want! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Humane Society of your choice.
