James Franklin Hudson

November 23, 1952 — August 26, 2021

James Franklin Hudson 68 Born November 23 1952 in Spokane Washington to Herbert and Eunice Hudson of Post Falls Idaho. Died August 26 2021 due to complications of Covid and a Heart attack. Jim grew up in Post Falls Idaho and graduated from Post Falls High School in 1971. He worked for the Navy Base in Bayview for 2 summers after that. He met Cathy Eby in July 1973 and they married in April of 1974, divorced in 2013. He worked for the Idaho State Department of transportation for a short time. They bought property in Garwood in 1975 and built a home in 1978. Their 2 girls Korie and Heidi where born while they lived there. In 1989 they bought 5 acres from his parents in Post Falls where they built a home next to them. His son Cody was born then in 1992. When Cody started Little League Jim volunteered to work as the Safety protocol Officer and enjoyed it so much he stayed on even after Cody was no longer in Little League. Jim worked for Diamond International Lumber Mill for 10 years until they were sold and he was laid off. He then started cleaning floors for Ron’s Grocery Store in Hayden for a few years. He sold that business and went back to school ITT Tec and got a degree in Auto Cad. He then worked for JUB Engineering for several years where he worked on the Centennial Trail that he was very proud of. He then went to work for Indian Health Services in Spokane as a drafter. He last worked as a flagger for Traffic Core. Jim was a Board Member of East Greenacres Irrigation District for many years. He was very passionate about the district and water in our region. He also served as State President of the IWUA…Idaho Water Users Association for several years and spent lots of time down in Boise. Jim had a Kidney transplant in 2017 after a few years of dialysis due to diabetes. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Eunice and his Brother Robert. He lost his oldest daughter Korie and her husband Benjamin Mullican in January 2014 from a car accident. Jim is survived by his daughter Heidi Hudson of Post Falls and her 2 son’s Alan and Layton. His son Cody James of Hauser and his son Darren James, also Korie’s daughter Angel and son Trevor. Sister Thelma (Chris) of Colorado, Celia Peterson of Hayden and Suzeanne of Clark Fork, and several nieces and nephews. The Family would like to thank Ron Wilson of EGID for being such a good friend to Jim and also his hunting buddy Don Hutson. No services are planned at this time. There may be a celebration of life at a later time to be determined.
