Michael Jay Ambach

Our parents in Heaven welcomed their only son Michael Jay Ambach in their loving arms early on Friday August 13th, 2021. He was surrounded by loving family at the time of his death. Mike was born on February 4, 1963, in Pierre, SD to Glen Michael and Arlys Hofer Ambach joining his older sister Renee. They moved from the Dakotas to Washington state and then to Pomeroy Washington in 1966 as our dad, Glen worked on Little Goose Dam and various other Dam projects in the Pacific Northwest. In 1967 another sister Shelley completed the family, she was the “caboose” Mike was a 12-year member of the Pomeroy School District and Graduate of the Class of 1981. He excelled in all sports especially football, basketball, and golf. He worked for local farmers in the summers and at harvest times. He was a sound and light man with a band which took him to several states and Canada. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. Proud moment was when he received the State record in Washington in 1992 for Bowhunting a Whitetail deer (164 1/8) Pope and Young Club for Big Game Records of North America and another one in 1994. He followed in his dad’s footsteps to become a hard working carpenter and took lots of jobs in Washington, Idaho, Texas, and Colorado over 40 years. At the time of his death he was employed by Mandere Construction Company in Idaho for over 8 years and had made lifelong friends. He is survived by his three sons, oldest Kyle Ambach, his mother Leslie, wife Kassi and grandchildren Wyatt & Madison of Newman Lake, Washington. Twins Jacob Ambach, wife Brisa and grandson Austin of Newman Lake, Washington. Twin Joshua Ambach of Newman Lake, Washington and their mother Kim. He is survived by Sister’s, Renee Stephenson, husband Blaine and niece Arlaina in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and sister, Shelley Dunlap, husband Dave and nephew Noah and niece Haley of Spokane, Washington. Also, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the USA. > > He was preceded in death by his mother Arlys Ambach Greenwalt, his father Glen Ambach, Stepmother Arlene Ambach, both sets of grandparents, aunts and uncles and twin grandchildren Kaeden and Kinsley Ambach. > > His final wishes were for his immediate family to spread his ashes in his favorite places.
