Elaine Dangerfield

May 28, 1932 — August 8, 2019

H. Elaine Dangerfield of Athol, Idaho went to her heavenly home on August 8, 2019,

Elaine’s life began on May 28, 1932 in Keene, New Hampshire, the daughter of Agnes and Lucius Hunnewell. In 1948, the family moved to San Diego, California where Elaine finished her senior year of high school. Elaine married in 1951 and had three sons. She was instrumental in helping with the tool and machine business the family owned. After the business sold, Elaine took an active role in the San Diego Republican Party. She was involved with politics on the local, state and national level. She even hosted a brunch at her home for, then gubernatorial candidate, Ronald Reagan. But Elaine’s greatest joy was becoming the wife of her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Dangerfield, whom she met in San Diego and married in 1976. They moved to Idaho where Bob longed to retire. Wanting to remain active in life, Elaine started college at an age when most of us are considering slowing down. She became a nurse for the State of Idaho Health Department, traveling across the county inspecting nursing home compliance. Elaine loved books, music and her garden. Her home is filled with treasured readings. Flowers always adorned the outside of the house. For years she had an organ and a piano in her home, playing her heart’s desire. Elaine and Bob were active in their church, Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rathdrum, Idaho. There Elaine sang in the choir and played the organ until her health kept her from doing so. Elaine is preceded in death by her mother Agnes (Hunnewell), father Lucius (Hunnewell) and son Doug (Brown). She is survived by her husband Bob Dangerfield, sons Don (Marcia) and David (Brown), stepsons Dennis (Cindy) Dangerfield, Dale (Andrea) Dangerfield, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. It is with heartfelt joy that we proclaim Elaine is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What a glorious time for her! Services will be held at a later date in Riverside, California at the Riverside National Cemetery.
