William (Bill) A. Millsap
Bill passed away peacefully at his home in Post Falls surrounded by family on December 15,
2023. Born June 29, 1936, to William L. Millsap and Patricia A. Millsap. Bill will be remembered
as an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and impeccable friend to everyone he met.
Bill grew up farming and logging with his dad and brothers. Farming wasn’t the lifestyle he
wanted so began driving trucks. He started driving for Cenex and then went to work for B-Line. It
was then he decided he no longer wanted to be on the road and wanted to be home with his
family. He began working for Central Pre-Mix and retired 24 years later. After he retired, he
loved to spend time in his shop building squirrel houses and step stools. He even had a short stint
as a hydroplane racer. Throughout his life, he loved fishing, hunting, camping, and metal detecting,
and he was devoted to his friends and family. His greatest passion in life was the time he spent
with his grandkids.
Bill married Gloria Jean Couey on March 29, 1963, and they had two children. Sam, in 1965 and
Cheri in 1967. Sadly, Gloria passed away in 1995 after 32 years of marriage.
Bill found love and companionship again with Kay Halliday and this started a new chapter for
them both. This love and companionship would last until Kay's untimely passing in 2021.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Patricia, little brother Richard, wives
Gloria and Kay, stepson Steve Halliday, and several of his lifelong friends. He is survived by his
children, Sam and Cheri, stepson Duane Halliday, godson Pat Eismann, his grandchildren Ryan
Odegaard, Jordyn Odegaard, Hailey Millsap, Connor Halliday, Skye Halliday-Wilson
(Marquess), Chloe Halliday, Alexa Halliday, Capriel Halliday, and his siblings Jack Millsap (Jo),
Jim Millsap (Marjean), and Sue Payment (Butch), devoted dog Lilah, and the entire Eismann
family. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and assorted Friends who are
as good as family.
In lieu of flowers, we ask, if you can, to please donate in Bill's honor to the wonderful people of
Hospice of North Idaho, Pleasantview Cemetery care of Washington Trust Bank, and/or to drink
an ice-cold Mtn Dew in Bill's honor.
We would like to thank the entire Hospice of North Idaho team who took impeccable care of
Bill and a very special thank you to “George” for spending time with Bill and listening to and
enjoying his wonderful stories.
