Virgil Lee Hull

March 21, 1955 — December 29, 2014

Virgil Lee Hull, 59, passed away unexpectedly December 29, 2014. Virgil was born March 21, 1955 at the family home in Post Falls, Idaho. He was the youngest of 8 children of Eldon and Evelyn (Galloway) Hull. Virgil lived in North Idaho his entire life. He held a multitude of jobs in his lifetime. Starting as a teenager, he worked at Playland Pier in Coeur D’ Alene and for the State Highway Department, followed by Bunker Hill Mine in the Silver Valley. His many years spent logging led to his enormously enjoyed career of small engine repair. He perfected his craft working at Kootenai Saw and Cycle and Murphy’s Repair, he was then able to open his own shop Hull’s Repair. Virgil met and married the love of his life, Tina Symons and they lived in Post Falls. In 1984 they welcomed their beautiful daughter April May. After a short stint in Kellogg they moved to their long time family home in Sagle. In 1990 the family was completed with the birth of son Kevin Lee. He returned to Post Falls in 2003 and continued to reside there with his family. Virgil was an avid outdoorsman, he truly loved camping, hunting, and fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, and ATVs and it was never difficult to talk him into a game of cribbage, pinochle or poker. He would often have a deck of cards ready and waiting to beat you. His drive to win didn't stop with cards, his competitive streak had him participating at logging competitions in events such as; axe throwing, cross cut, and hot saws. He even turned the leisure sport of fishing into a competition by entering derbies while he was a member of Lake Coeur D' Alene Anglers and Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club. Bowling and dart tournaments similarly demonstrated his competitive spirit. Virgil's love for music was never a secret to those who knew him. He was often caught singing or whistling a song from his favorite artist/actor, Elvis. Along with Elvis movies he enjoyed watching westerns, wrestling, and animal shows with his dog, Hunter. The warmth and care in Virgil's heart enlightened many lives. Try as he might to be a tuff guy we could see right through his act and know that he was full of love for so many. Virgil will be truly missed. Virgil was preceded in death by both parents, sister Anna May Hagnes, brothers Loren (Butch) and Eldon (Punk). Virgil is survived and will be missed by his loving wife of 30 years Tina Hull, son Kevin (Erika) Hull, daughter April; Wendy Galloway and Misty (Sean) Dougherty (daughters in his heart): sisters Marie (Jane) Pittsley, and Lyndall Murphy; brothers Kenneth, and Donald (Dianna). Numerous nieces and nephews and a very large extended family. A memorial celebrating Virgil’s life will be Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the LDS Church 1670 N McGuire Rd. Post Falls, ID at 2:00 pm.
