Violet Jean Burge of Post Falls Idaho, passed away peacefully at Generations Assisted Living in Rathdrum Idaho on June19, 2024.
Violet was born in Valley City, N.D. to Tina Dahl and Chester Arther Percy Welsh on June 25, 1936. She spent her youth in Helena Montana, later they moved to Post Falls Idaho. She was the seventh child out of ten children. She married Floyd Dean Burge on October 24, 1953. They lived in Post Falls and had 4 children, William (Bill), Cristina (Cris), Stanley (Stan) and Patricia (Patty). She held many different jobs, picking apples, working the Post Falls Fruit Cannery and Idaho Forest Group. She loved her job planting and taking care of the future forest trees. She worked there until she retired in 1992. Violet was an election worker too. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and fishing. Her greatest loved is her family and watching baseball with Ben!
Violet is preceded in death by her mother Tina and father Chester, her husband Floyd as well as sisters Mae, Thea, Betty and Alta and brothers Allan, Lester, Pete, Lee, and Mike.
She is survived by her 4 children: Bill and his wife Benita Burge of Cooper Texas, Cris and her husband Mark Imus of Grangeville Idaho, Stan and his wife Kate Burge of Rathdrum Idaho and Patty and her husband Brian Dunham of Del Rio TN. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held on July 20th at 1pm at Bell Towers Funeral Home in Post Falls.
Family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
