Thomas Morales (Tom) passed away at 0235hr Friday, July 2nd, 2021, resultant of complications due to stroke. He was supported during his life transition by his family and the wonderful critical care teams at Sacred Heart and Kootenai Health as well as all the amazing staff at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho.
Tom lived an amazing life of love and adventure which all started on August 25, 1946, in Whitefish, Montana, born into the care of Lucille (Lu) & Ygnacio (Moe) Morales. At the young age of 20, Tom was drafted into military service. After basic training and a brief stint with the motor vehicle service branch, he was voluntarily placed into the 101st Airborne Division and spent a brief time in Germany before being deployed to Vietnam. Tom served our great nation honorably and with distinction from 1966 to 1968. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star during his service.
After returning home he married his sweetheart Sherron, and they went on to have and raise two beautiful girls, Angie and Debbie. Tom found work in high steel construction. Working on projects like the Grand Coulee Dam and eventually went onto owning his own antique furniture restoration shop in Spokane.
In 1991, Tom met the love of his life Celia and eventually moved to Coeur d’ Alene. A proud Vietnam Veteran and devoted Patriot he was an active member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 889 Coeur d’ Alene. He loved working with his fellow veterans and patriots and made many lasting friendships.
Tom is survived by his daughters Debbie (Scott), Angie (Jason), stepsons Brett (Tammy), Todd and grandchildren Sherridan, Isaac, Benjamin, Rebekah, Jody, Keenan, Kayla and Ryder. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Ygnacio & Lucille, and his wife Celia
