Sonya Leu has lived in Post Falls, Idaho since 1990. She passed away at Kootenai Medical Center on October 16, 2020 at 10:55pm. She was born in Denver, Colorado on September 7th, 1964 to Viola Ada “Jackie” Leu and Robert Leu.
She remained in Colorado until she moved with her husband and two children to Post Falls Idaho to be close to her mother, brothers, and sisters. She was married to Ricky True Sr. for 18 years before divorcing in 1997, and they have remained friends and a part of each other's lives to this day. Together they had two children, Brandy and Ricky Jr.
Throughout her life, Sonya had worked mostly in manufacturing/production but had spent a few years as a caregiver in an assisted living facility. She loved being outdoors which includes driving through the mountains, hunting, fishing, camping.
Sonya is survived by her daughter Brandy (Joe) Barber, Her son Ricky True Jr. Her brothers Eugene “Bud” (Debbie) Leu, and Loren (Ann) Leu. Her only grandchild Kyra Barber. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and so many great friends that had become family as well.
Sonya was a light in a lot of lives and had always done her best to bring a smile to the face of those around her with her goofy personality and great sense of humor. She loved her coffee and her chocolate, and I think she would love for all who knew her to enjoy a cup of coffee and a chocolate bar in her honor. Rocky Roads, Heresy's, 3 Musketeers, Reese cups, Almond Joy and Snickers being at the top of her lists. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
