Sidney Swehosky

December 19, 1936 — January 12, 2014

Sidney Ray Swehosky, 77, of Rathdrum Idaho began a new journey, January 12, 2014. Sidney was born in California, joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country for over 20 years. He married the love of his life Barbara Blake and they had 49 wonderful years together. He moved to the beautiful area of Twin Lakes, Idaho where he enjoyed nature each and every day. He was an amazing husband, father , grandfather and brother. He never hesitated to give a helping hand when someone needed it. He was a perfectionist, and never quit until a project was complete. He firmly believed "if your going to do it-do it right." He enjoyed fishing, water skiing, riding his jet ski and four wheelers. He also loved restoring his 1964 Ford Fairlane. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball, the Seattle Sea Hawks, and the Gonzaga Basketball team. He enjoyed living on the lake to see all the wildlife, including: moose, ducks, geese, eagles, osprey, swans, and many different birds. You could often find Sid sitting on the deck enjoying the lake view while eating some shelled peanuts and listening to his sports radio. Sidney known as "Papa" by his grandchildren will be missed but always loved. He touched everyone he met. He created amazing memories for his children and grandchildren, always making sure everything was absolutely "perfect" for their visits to the lake. No matter how he felt, he produced a beautiful smile and answered his families phone calls with a bright cheery voice. He left behind a family that will forever be thankful for his wonderful hugs, silly comments, entertaining stories, and infectious laughter. Sidney is survived by his loving wife Barbara; son Brian Swehosky of Rathdrum, Idaho; daughter Lynn (Jeff) Marchant of Draper, Utah; and 7 grandchildren. Upon his request no services will be held.
