Shirley “Ann” Brinkley, 80
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on July 23, 2017 after a battle with lung cancer. Born on October 24, 1936 in Mahnomen, MN she was the youngest of 11 children. She moved to Spokane, WA where she met Larry Brinkley and the two were married on July 20, 1959.
Ann spent her life caring for her family and friends. She volunteered at her children’s schools, attended every school, athletic, and curricular event, and still had a home cooked meal on the table every night. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed time laughing with her friends as they played bingo. After retirement, Ann traveled the country with her husband before settling down to a peaceful life in Post Falls, ID to participate in the joys of watching her great-grandchildren grow up. Her family will remember her as the charitable matriarch with a magic way in the kitchen.
She is survived by husband Larry Brinkley Sr., her children Stacey Brinkley and Larry Brinkley Jr., niece/daughter Tami Templeton, niece/granddaughter Sabrina Kimm, and her great-grandchildren Katelyn and Andrew Kimm.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 1st at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Spokane Valley.
