Sandra "Sandie" Jean Abraham (78) May 8, 1945 - March 17, 2024.
Our beloved mother, wife, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend took her last breath of Idaho air and
her first breath of Heaven's air on March 17, 2024, as she entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She had fallen ill on Thanksgiving Day 2023 and never recovered.
Sandie was a mighty warrior for the Lord and spent her life in service for Him. Her main goal in life was to please her Father in Heaven and to be a witness of His love for those who knew her. She pastored Mount Zion church for many years in Athol, Idaho where she shared the Love of the Lord. The love and grace of the Lord Jesus was seen through her life by all fortunate to have known her.
She was born May 8, 1945, in Richmond, CA and her family moved to Superior, Arizona soon thereafter where she spent her childhood and teenage years. She would often tell stories of growing up in Arizona. She told one story about walking home from school one day when a rattlesnake slithered out of the bushes and scared her. It made her so mad that she killed it with a rock and cut its rattler off. Her mom was terrified and furious when she arrived home with the snake's rattler.
She met Ross "Eddie" Besich in Arizona, and they were married on February 11, 1963. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to the Inland Northwest where they raised three children: Tana, Rene' and Ross, Jr. She was a wonderful mother and was a "mom" not only to her children but to many of their friends. Her door was always open to anyone who needed help and she always put the needs of others before her own.
She worked side-by-side with Ross to build R.E.B. Excavating while raising their three children. Friends will also remember
her from working at Ponsness/Warren in Rathdrum, Stein's IGA in Rathdrum, and K-Mart in Coeur d'Alene.
She remarried on March 15, 1992, to Michael Abraham and they spent the rest of her life together ministering to those around them the salvation message of the Lord Jesus. They loved spending time together studying the Word of God, praying, and sharing. They also loved going out to eat with her favorite restaurant being Red Lobster. They spent many an evening with family and friends playing cards. She was quite the "hand and foot" card player and loved the fellowship with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Abraham; daughters, Tana Vesser(Rick) and Rene' Palaniuk(Tony); grandchildren Preston Brandt(Chelsey), Anthony Brandt(Brittany), Joshua Vesser, Nickolas Vesser, Stephanie Palaniuk and Kayla Jocumsen(Carl); great-grandchildren, Brodie(Nickolas), Bradyn and Addy(Anthony), Keira and Rafe(Preston), Graycee and
Ryeder(Stephanie) and Rivah(Kayla), her sister, Barbara Olney(Chuck), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Jean Jeffrey; her first husband, Ross E. Besich Sr.; her sister, Dorothy Wilson; her son, Ross E. Besich, Jr., and her nephew Grant Wilson.
Per her request, no memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children's Village on 1350 W Hanley Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815 where her son, Ross E Besich, Jr. has a memorial brick placed.
The most important thing to her was sharing the salvation message. She would want her obituary to be her last opportunity
to share this message:
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
