Sandra Kay (Kenny) Griswold, 59, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho passed away April 12, 2014 at the Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho after a 5 year battle with multiple myeloma. Sandra was born January 15, 1955 in Kalispell, Montana to William and Loretta (Galland) Kenny.
Sandra's father passed away in 1972 when she was 17, and the family moved from Montana to Coeur d'Alene. Sandra graduated from Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle, Washington in 1974, and in 1983 she married Donald Griswold. In 1984, Sandra, Don, and Don's two children from his previous marriage moved to Alaska, where they lived for the next 20 years. In 2006 Sandra and Don moved back to Coeur d'Alene.
Sandra was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed working with young children, sewing, gardening, and the outdoors. She even learned to enjoy catching fish with Don when they lived in Alaska. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and she was very close to all of her nieces and nephews.
Sandra is survived by her mother, Loretta Kenny of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two sons Charles Griswold of Fortuna, California, and Richard (Milesa) Griswold of West Richland, Washington; one brother Dennis (Jane) Kenny of Post Falls, Idaho; one sister Colleen (Cameron) Beierle of Chehalis, Washington; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband and her father.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Coeur d'Alene Seventh Day Adventist Church, 111 Locust Ave. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
