Ronald Leroy Sanders passed on to the Lord September 21, 2013 from a long illness of chronic lung disease.
He was born at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, California on the twelfth day of August 1941 to Gerald L. Sanders and Rose Elaine Leonard Sanders.
He lived in Tujunga, California most of his life with his family and graduated from Verdugo Hills High School January 29, 1960. He later lived in Tehachapi California where he enjoyed riding his horse, Henry.
Ron joined the United States Army November 14, 1960 and was honorably discharged November 13, 1963. Following his discharge from the Army, he started a career in the aerospace field. During his career he was awarded many accreditations for his dedicated service in this field. He became a specialized addition to most every airplane company in the United States, both military and commercial, as well as being involved with inventing specialized parts for the command module second stage rocket system on the Apollo Space Program, which is still used.
Ron married Shirley Arrants on September 30, 2000 in Snohomish, Washington. Together they lived, loved, worked together, and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, animals and country life style. They dedicated their lives to working together and building a home following their retirement to enjoy their hobbies and lives together. Ron was a very loving husband, father and friend. His two sons, Richard L. Sanders and Jeffrey R. Sanders, both of California and one grand daughter, Melissa Louise Martin of Arkansas, survive him. Two stepsons Trace Arrants of Camano Island, Washington and Chance Arrants of Sedro Woolley, Washington also survive him.
