Ronald James Evans

d. March 26, 2014

Ronald James Evans, 56, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away March 26, 2014. He was born April 12, 1957 in Spokane, Washington to Paul and Dolores (Benz) Evans. Ron grew up in Idaho's Silver Valley where he met his wife of 39 years, Deloris Burton. They resided in Pine Creek and Pinehurst. Ronald worked as a miner for the Star Mine, and later as a logger for Blue Creek Logging where an accident left him paralyzed and unable to work. He then relocated to Post Falls in the early 80s. Ron enjoyed anything that involved being outdoors and loved spending time with his four grandchildren. He was an animal lover and was surrounded by them all his life. He was an avid Nascar fan and mingled in photography, always trying to get the perfect picture. Ron will be remembered by all who knew him for his perseverance in all he encountered. When life threw him its challenges, he bravely took them on. Ronald is survived by his loving wife Deloris, his daughter Kara Carey of Alliance, Nebraska; two brothers Chuck Evans of Pocatello, Idaho, and Don Evans of Republic, Washington; two sisters Verlene (Bill) Madsen of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and Claudene (Brian) Graham of Casselberry, Florida; four grandchildren Dillon, Hannah, Brooke, and Brandon; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Mark Evans. A celebration of Ronald's life will be held Saturday April 12, 2014 starting at 1:00 at the family home in Post Falls, Idaho. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Kootenai Humane Society at 11650 N Ramsey Rd, Hayden, ID 83835.
