Rollie Lee Mort, 71, of Post Falls Idaho, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Hospice House in Hayden. Rollie was born on April 23, 1942 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Keith and Bonnita Mort. He graduated from Grand Coulee High School, in Grand Coulee, Washington with the class of 1961. He relocated to Coeur d' Alene, where he worked for Northwest Timber Industries until it closed and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union until he retired. He married Wilma Wood Montgomery on September 2nd,1983. Rollie's love for his family and friends was overwhelmingly obvious. He will always be remembered as a selfless man who put the needs of others before his own. He enjoyed attending church and was very involved in the bus ministry with Faith Tabernacle Church. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially hunting, camping, mountain drives and huckleberry picking. One of his favorite spots was the St. Joe River where he enjoyed fishing and giving swimming lessons. He liked riding his ATV, photography, sports and cooking. He particularly loved watching Gonzaga Basketball and the Seattle Seahawks. Rollie also had a weakness for recycling scrap metal, garage sales and finding a good deal. Rollie is preceded in death by his parents Keith and Bonnita Mort, his brothers Rick and Terry Mort, Step-daughter Rebecca McCorkle and grandson Nakita Vann. Rollie is survived by his wife Wilma; 7 children, Terrie Lynn Gonzales, Shirleen and husband Kurt Jacobs, Cheri Vann, Tim and wife Angela Mort, Jeremy and wife Kelly Mort, Josh and wife Jessica Mort; stepson Frank and wife Jessica Montgomery; his 21 grandchildren Taylor Rae, Dodge, Luke, and Eli Gonzales, Jordin and Brayden Jacobs, Damon and Brenden Mort, Maurice Vann, Lance and Callie Mort, Tori and husband Ty Spinella, Cohen and Camden Mort, Ryan and wife Sarah Rickel, Jessica and husband Rory Lapka, Gwyneth, Lincoln, Winston, Bronwyn, and Evelyn Montgomery; and 8 great grandchildren SaNyah Mort, Millie Vann, Ayla, Declan, Cato, and Roan Rickel, Samuel and Joseph Lapka; 2 Brothers, Royce and wife Coleen, Larry Mort; a sister Kaye Banker; His Uncle Rick and wife Diane Eppers; Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. His family invites you to a celebration of his life, Saturday February 22nd 2014, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Faith Ministries Church, 5703 East 16th, Post Falls Idaho. You are invited to join the Mort Family for fellowship and lunch at the church following the service. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of North Idaho. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Hospice House of North Idaho Hospice in Rollie's name.
