Roger Austin Edgington, 80, passed away unexpectedly October 25, 2022 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with his wife of 58 years at his side.
Roger was born April 3, 1942 in Osceola, Iowa to Don and Neva Edgington. He was raised along with four brothers and two sisters on the family farm and graduated from Osceola High School in 1960. During these years growing up, Roger learned many valuable skills which served him well throughout his life.
Shortly after high school, Roger met Kayretha (Kay) Camp and the two were married on January 31, 1964. In the years to come, Roger and Kay would welcome their two daughters Sherry (Benson) and Shelley (Booth) into the world and moved the family to Hayden, Idaho. Roger owned and operated an HVAC business for many years and became a volunteer firefighter for the Hayden Lake fire department. He made long-lasting friendships with Cliff and Ronald and the three enjoyed raising their families together.
Roger was a devoted husband, caring father, grandfather to five, and great grandfather to three. He took great pride and joy in watching his family grow. Intelligent, kind and generous, Roger was always ready to help fix what was broken or to sit and play a few games with his family whenever possible. Together, Roger and Kay frequently spent time exploring the Pacific Northwest, visiting numerous campgrounds and state parks, and admiring all of the wildlife that they came across on their trips.
Roger lived his life well and loved his family. He will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of his presence in their lives. He was a very good man.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
