Robert Walter Yost

Robert “Bob” Walter Yost, 77, was born in Spearfish, SD to Walter and Helen Yost on November 12th, 1938, he passed away on September 28th, 2016 in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. At the age of 6 he moved with his family from South Dakota to Wallace, ID where he excelled in athletics and graduated from Wallace High School in 1956. He played basketball at North Idaho Junior College and attended the University of Idaho and graduated from Eastern Washington University. He lived and raised his family with his wife Carol in Osburn, ID. He coached athletics and taught Junior High in the Wallace School District after graduating from college. He worked for Hecla and Asarco mining companies in the Silver Valley for several years, Eastern Washington University as an associate professor and moved to Republic, WA in 1995 where he worked and eventually retired from Echo Bay Mining Company. After retirement in 1999 he moved to Post Falls, ID where he lived until his passing. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He was an avid golfer and loved hanging out with his golf buddies on the 19th hole at Prairie Falls Golf Club where he had a custom glass and a cocktail named after him. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years and their dog Baxter at their home in Post Falls. He also leaves behind his daughter Teresa and her companion Scott Woodworth and his son Darrin, his wife Amy and their children Elizabeth and Margaret. He also had a daughter from a previous marriage, Sheri Roberge (John) and her family. His sister-in-law Sue Yost and brothers-in-law Gary (Sandra) and Doug (Kathy) Nelson and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, parents, his in-laws Harry and Dorothy Nelson and his favorite little brother Gary “Tiny” Yost. At his request there will be no services. A gathering of his friends will take place at a later date.
