Robert J. Mettalia

Bob Mettalia passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 3, 2016. Bob was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Joseph B. & Antonette Mettalia. He studied and graduated from Fordham University, and went on to graduate from St. John’s Law School in N.Y. He spent his career as a well respected Attorney practicing law in the New York area. After retiring he moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID in 2006. Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years Margaret (Peg) Mettalia, his 3 daughters Jane (Chuck) McDonald, Nancy (Noel) Adam, and Gina (Bart) Mettalia. Mrs. Joan Mettalia, granddaughter Marie(Mike) Kuyper, grandson Robert Potratz, and 7 great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his brother Joseph (Joyce) Mettalia of New Hope PA. He was preceded in death by his younger sister Maryann Buckley and parents Joe & Anne Mettalia. He and Peg enjoyed many rounds of golf as members of the Avondale Golf Club. The family would like to thank Kootenai Health especially Dr.Klater, and Tyler, Dr. Cook and staff, Dr. Kristi Jones and all the wonderful nurses, CNA’s, and staff for providing such great care and comfort for him during his stay. Also our appreciation to the staff at The Coeur d’Alene Hospice House for keeping Bob and the entire family comfortable in his final hours. The family will have a small gathering to celebrate Bob’s life at a later date.
