Robert Byron Mann, 70, of Post Falls, Idaho left us for eternal life December 23, 2017 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Robert was born March 11, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Warren and Eleanor (Borchacz) Mann.
Robert spent his childhood in the suburbs of Detroit Michigan, after graduating from High School Robert joined the United States Marines and served two tours during the Vietnam War.
After his discharge Robert worked a variety of jobs including various clerk jobs but his favorites were those that included woodworking and architectural painting.
Robert was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in service for his country, and was a published writer, publishing a book of poetry.
He was a member of the VFW Cpl Neil Reid Post 2358 Roseville, MI, and Immaculate Conception Church.
Robert is survived by four children David, Angelin, Jeffrey, and Gwendolyn, seven grandchildren, and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael.
A Rosary service will be held Friday January 26, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Church 614 E. 5th Ave. Post Falls, Idaho 83854, Mass will follow Saturday January 27, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will Tuesday January 30, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery 21702 W. Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, WA 99022.
The family suggests that memorials rather than flowers, may be made for purgatorial masses in care of Bell Tower Funeral Home 3398 E. Jenalan Ave. Post Falls, Idaho 83854.
