Richard Evert Greig was born 21 October, 1940 in Salmon, ID just a few blocks from his home now and passed away on 10 October, 2015 at Steel Memorial Hospital. He was son of Stanley Wilcox (Jack) Greig and Velma Agnes Blood Greig. He had 2 brothers, Adrian & David and a sister Juanita Greig Cottrell.
He attended 1st grade in Salmon school, then they moved to Longview, WA where he attended 2nd & 3rd grade. The family then moved to Colbalt, ID where he attended 4-8 grades. He attended Challis High School until an accident in March, 1957.
After surmounting incredible odds he attended Lower Columbia Community College in Longview, WA where he studied mechanical engineering. He then ran his own business of radiator repair and welding.
He married Janiece Bosworth and they and their two children Mike and Melanie lived in Longview until Rick sold his business and they moved back to Salmon, ID.
He enjoyed gold panning, hunting, fishing, rock hunting and was a great cook. He enjoyed animals and people but especially children. He lived life to the fullest, never letting his physical impairments stop him from doing the things he loved most.
In 2000 he married the love of his life, Sharon Martonen Wendell and together they enjoyed life doing the things that they loved, adventures in the outdoors, travels and family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, sister Nita Cottrell, his children, Melanie, Mike (Kathy) Greig, Shannon (Curtis) Fayle, Shell (Shelly) Howard, Chris (Sarah) Wendell, Rachael (Greg) Lubetkin, Holly (Sam) Abrams, Arthur (Jihye) Wendell. Grandsons Corey & Kyle Greig, Bandy (Nikki) Fayle, Taj (Breanna) Howard, Toven (Kat) Howard, Oliver & Emmet Abrams, Caiden Lubetkin, Alex and Bryan Wendell. Granddaughters Amber Strichlan, Karley Burns, Jennifer Locke, Becky (Kodi) Fayle, Samantha Wendell.
Great grandchildren: Lila Grace, Curtis, Chasen, Jasper, Jayce, Ryder, Dominic, Damien and Madison.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Janiece, his parents and his 2 brothers Adrian & David.
