Phil Nickle

August 6, 1977 — March 28, 2019

Phillip Clayton Nickle

August 6, 1977 Victorville, California        March 28, 2019 Spokane Valley, Washington

His first home was in Juliaetta, Idaho.  He lived in Arizona for a while and then came to Spokane.  He graduated from Cheney High School in 1995, where he was the Student Body President his senior year.  He loved adventure and was a diehard New York Yankees fan.  He had an infectious smile, a contagious laugh and a quick wit.  He had the ability to connect with anyone and everyone. He was a high school wrestler but his passion was baseball.  He was ejected from one game for charging the mound and taking down the pitcher who was throwing too close to his head.  His thoughts were he should have received two points for a takedown instead.  He was called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Morristown New Jersey Mission from 1997 to 1999. His family received a call from one of the local church leaders in that mission who told them that Elder Nickle was a cut above the rest.  They saw that in him and wanted his family to know.  He attended EWU in Cheney. He leaves behind his parents, Monty and Karen Nickle, an older brother, Stephen Nickle, a younger sister, Jessica Christen, many nieces and nephews, and his 6 year daughter, Zoey Nickle, the love of his life.
