Margaret “Peggy” Davis, 90, of Cocoa Beach, Florida passed away July 30, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Born in 1931 to Margaret and George Frederick, Peggy was the oldest of 5 children.
Peggy worked a variety of jobs during and after high school, mostly to get out of doing Saturday chores! (She once paid a neighbor to do her ironing.) In the early 1950’s, Peggy thought about buying a Corvette, but that was before she spotted a tall, laughing sailor at a dance. Jim was “cutting a rug” with all the ladies, both young and old, and soon she was his only dance partner. Peggy and Jim were married for 50 years until his death in 2006.
Peggy was an amazing mother to their two children, James (Svitlana) and Patricia (Paul) Schwartz (…although I’m sure there were many times that she would have traded one or both of us for the Corvette!) Peggy loved being a grandmother to Kara (Casey) Henry and Patrick Schwartz. Growing up, they enjoyed wonderful visits to the beach with her. Peggy once moved across the country when she was asked to baby sit! Peggy was a dynamic, loving, and generous woman. Peggy treasured her friends and neighbors in Cocoa Beach where she lived for over 50 years.
Peggy was preceded in death by both parents and one brother George Frederick. She is survived by her loving siblings Helen (Joe) Burkert, Mary Lou (Walt) Hasenaur, and Matthew (Macy) Frederick. She also delighted in her many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no service as Peggy is already busy ”shaking a leg” with hubby Jim in heaven. “Peg of our Heart, we love you”!
