Patrick McCarthy worked on computers, tinkered on cars, and valued time with his son, Quinn. But, his passion was good food and cooking.
Born in Orange County, California to Patricia Berry, Patrick later moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada where he attended a high school that taught culinary arts. While in school he also worked in the kitchen of a large Las Vegas casino, where he learned about the food industry.
Patrick joined the United States Air Force, after graduation, and served as a food service specialist in Naples Italy, Wyoming, and Las Vegas.
After discharge, Patrick worked his way up from restaurant cook, to manager in Ukiah, California before moving to Oregon to be closer to a family friend, Gary.
In Oregon, Patrick became a certified computer service technician. While on a service call a year later, he met Paige Campbell. The two married and in 2001 their son Quinn was born. Both remained dedicated parents to Quinn after the marriage ended.
Patrick moved to Post Falls, Idaho, to be nearer his son Quinn who is a student at Washington State University. Patrick loved watching Quinn play football for the Cougs and attended every home game. He also cheered on the Trail Blazers, Mariners, and Seahawks and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
But, he was most fulfilled when cooking, helping others, and spending time with his son. He took great joy in cooking meals for those in need during COVID.
Patrick worked for U.S. Foods and lived in Post Falls. He was a member of the Valley Assembly Church
He is survived by his son Quinn Campbell McCarthy, of Pullman, Washington and his sisters Teresa Mary Carr and Samantha Ann Borday Penry.
