Patricia (Pat) Ann Macey Caloca Day, born on September 4th, 1945, to Virginia Dare Reese and George Herbert Macey in Logan, Utah. At a very young age the family moved from Logan, Utah, and relocated in the Sunshine State of California where she began to create marvelous memories. In her youth she lived in the cities of Oakland and Pleasant Hill, alongside her four younger brothers and sisters. In high school she discovered she had a passion for theatre. Thanks to her cherished teacher Mr. Grey, that passion would unequivocally influence and impact countless lives. At age 17 the family moved to Denver, Colorado. Pat moved only as far as Provo, Utah to begin her studies at Brigham Young University, where she earned a BA in English/Speech/Drama. After enduring many surgeries and health challenges in her youth, she had initially envisioned herself becoming a nurse. She soon discovered, however, that chemistry and biology were not her “cup of tea”. With much thought and reflection, she turned to the love that had been kindled in her high school drama class and decided to pursue a career in Theatre Education. She began her teaching career in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. Two years later, in 1971, she accepted a position teaching Reading at Coeur d’Alene Jr High School. In 1974 she had the opportunity to take over the Theatre Program in Coeur d’Alene High School, delivering her first successful production of Guys and Dolls. It was the start of a successful career as a Theatre Teacher that thrived through decades. She taught at Coeur d’Alene High School for 38 years where she developed wonderful and lasting relationships with students, friends, and the community. Teaching in Coeur d’Alene was a” heavenly experience”. She cherished the wonderful memories of her career. Pat and her beloved husband Mark enjoyed a beautiful life full of international and cross-country adventures and served three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As missionaries, they continued to edify and impact countless lives through their love and service. After a year of dealing with cancer, she passed on to heaven on Tuesday, May 10,2022 where she will continue her adventures. God be with you till we meet again!
