Norman Lee Kuhlman

Norman “Norm” Lee Kuhlman, 63, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away April 14, 2018 at his home. Norm was born December 24, 1954 in Spokane, Washington to John and Jean (Drechsel) Kuhlman.

Norm spent his childhood in Worley, Idaho until his Senior year of high school when his family moved to Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Ferris High School in 1972. He then went to diesel mechanic school, obtaining an Associate in Applied Science in Diesel Heavy Duty Equipment. After he was unable to find work after completing his training, he went to work with his brothers, working as a truck driver, and loader operator, for Kuhlman Logging until 2016. During this same time period, he attended Spokane Community College obtaining an Associate In Applied Science Degrees in both CNC Machine Technology and Machine Shop Technology. He then opened Post Falls Machine and operated that business in his spare time, until his death. In 2016 he began working at Andritz Hydro as a machinist, repairing hydro-electric dam parts. He was working there until his death.

Norm was first married to Mary Hay, and together they had two children, they were later divorced. He later met Fran Sheppard and they were married June 2, 2012 in Coeur d’ Alene.

He loved everything the outdoors had to offer including camping and four wheeling. He also enjoyed sport shooting, collecting guns, reloading, and his German Shepherd dogs.

Norm is survived by his loving wife Fran of the family home in Post Falls, Idaho; one son, Chris (Rebecca) Kuhlman of Otis Orchards, WA, a daughter, Wendy (Greg) Smith of Dalton Gardens and two step sons Toby Lynn of Grand Coulee, WA, and Nate Lynn of Wilbur, WA; two brothers Ronald (Linda) Kuhlman of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, and Melvin (Debbie) Kuhlman of Cle Elum, WA; one sister Candy Primmer of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Bell Tower Funeral Home 3398 E. Jenalan Ave. Post Falls, ID 83854.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the NRA.
