Nancy Eileen Hansen

July 10, 1947 — July 4, 2017

Nancy Eileen Hansen, age 69 of Coeur d’ Alene went to be with Jesus on July 4th, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

She was born on July 10th, 1947 to Carmen and Dorothy (Skarles) Lantis.  She graduated from Folsom High School in 1965. After graduation, she moved to Sacramento where she met the love of her life, Richard Hansen.  They dated for 3 months and were married on March 10th, 1969.  After getting married they immediately moved to Marietta Georgia. They welcomed their first daughter Shannon in 1970.  They spent one year in Georgia and then moved to Fresno, California.  She attended Fresno Community College and received a degree in reprographics.  After working in that field for a brief time she decided that reprographics was not a proper fit for her.  She went back to school and became a licensed vocational nurse.  She worked as an LVN for a brief time and decided she knew more than the registered nurses so she again went back to school to become a registered nurse.  She finally found her true calling in life.  She worked as a transport nurse for the NICU at Valley Children’s Hospital in Fresno.  She loved working in the NICU and had a passion for premature babies.

Rick and Nancy welcomed their second daughter, Lindsey in 1984. She was a stay at home mom until 1994 when the family moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.  Once in Idaho she worked in the NICU at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.  She worked at Deaconess until her retirement in 2009 so she could spend more time with her family and three granddaughters.

Nancy had a very artistic side and enjoyed making glass jewelry. She sold her jewelry annually at A Taste of Coeur d’ Alene up until 2015.

She was an incredible wife and mother.  Her greatest joy was her three granddaughters and she loved to play with them.  She had a taste for diamonds and designer perfume and loved to spend hours at the perfume counter at Macy’s.  Most importantly, she loved the Lord and was a faithful servant.  She did mission work with her husband and youngest daughter in Yugoslavia during the Balkan War.  Nancy and her family are members of Real Life Ministries.

Our hearts are broken and we are going to miss her more than we can express in words.  But we do take comfort in knowing she is with Jesus enjoying her new body free of pain and physical suffering.

She was preceded in death by her father Carmen Lantis.      She leaves behind her mother Dorothy P. (Skarles) Lantis, husband and best friend, Richard Hansen, daughters Shannon Hansen and Lindsey (Hansen) Rahn, and three granddaughters, Alexis Hansen, Carsyn and Avery Rahn.
