Murland Vilas Bell, 60, was born January 27th, 1951 in Rexburg, Idaho to Vilas Cur Bell and Irene Clair Weekes Bell, the 4th child of 8 children. He unexpectedly passed away October 5th, 2011 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Murland grew up in Tetonia, Idaho, and graduated from Teton High. At age 19 he met his wife and sweetheart, Carrie Taylor (17) at a dance in Jackson, Wyoming, where they were both working that summer. They married two years later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Murland had attended Ricks College, and together they attended Utah State University. He graduated in 1974 from USU with a degree in German.
Over the years, seven children blessed their home. After living in a variety of places, Murland and his family settled in Post Falls, Idaho. Murland worked hard to provide for his family. For the last several years, he worked as a computer technician at DAL Computers in Hayden, Idaho. He loved his job and the people he worked for and with.
Murland is survived by his wife, Carrie Taylor Bell, their 7 children: Joseph (Angie), David (Dan), Emily (Garrison) Gammell, Daniel (Karen), Lucy (Micah) Miller, Vilas, and Michael, 7 grandchildren; and his siblings: Vaughn (Faye), DonnaLee Smith, LaRene (Dick) Hurst, LaPreal (Lester) Henman, Marie Williams, Thad (Teresa), and John.
Murland was a kind, sensitive, loving husband and father. He was adored by his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he deeply loved his family. Murland and Carrie had just celebrated their 39th anniversary in September. They were best friends and sweethearts.
Murland was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he had a deep and abiding love for the Savior, whom he said was his hero.
Memorial services will be held on November 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located on 16th and Greensferry , Post Falls, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to his wife and sons still living at home: Carrie Bell, 605 E. 15th Ave., Post Falls, ID. 83854
