Mike Jarrett died on February 20, 2024 at his home in Post Falls. He was born November 24, 1963 to Don and Pat Jarrett at Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico. Mike grew up in central and northern Idaho and Spokane before moving to Post Falls, Idaho while in high school. He graduated from Post Falls High School in 1982 and studied welding at Columbia Basin Jobs Corps, Class of 1984.
Mike married Jenn West in Coeur d’Alene on September 23, 2010, becoming a first time dad to Kady, a role he relished. Daughter Khloe followed in 2010 and their family was complete. Mike was a world-class “girl dad.”
In 2010 Mike left IMCO Recycling, after a 21-year career as Maintenance Leadman, to embrace his role as Mr. Mom. He loved spending quality time with his daughters and coordinating all things related to the household. When the girls were in school Mike took a maintenance position at North Idaho Stem Charter Academy where he formed lasting relationships with staff, students and parents.
Mike joined the Post Falls Lions Club in 2001, dedicating himself to serving the community and organization for over two decades. He served in many leadership positions; multiple terms as president, executive board, Chairman of the famous Lions Club Haunted House for a number of years and Sight and Hearing Chairman. He received the Lion of the Year Award as well as the highest award in Lions Club International, the Melvin Jones Award.
Among his hobbies were camping and fishing with family and friends, the great outdoors, chatting up strangers, road tripping to Texas to visit family and bowling in the Boomer League at River City Lanes.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jenn and daughters Kady and Khloe, at the family home in Post Falls, mother Pat Collier -Post Falls; brother Jeff Jarrett (Nikki) -Orofino, ID, sisters Kathy Duke (Marchand) -Moscow, ID; Stephanie Guettinger (Mike) -Dayton, WA; mother-in-law Janice West -Dumas, Texas; niece and nephews, Abby Duke, Shane Guettinger, Logan Guettinger, and Mathieu Guettinger and his beloved dogs, Reeta and Lucie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Jarrett and great nephew, Jaron Guettinger.
