Matthew Robert Peterson

Matthew Robert Peterson, age 51, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away on September 13, 2023. Matthew was born May 13, 1972, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Sandra Sue (née Morton) and Robert Milton Peterson. Matt attended school in Rathdrum, Idaho, and later served in the Army National Guard before and during Desert Storm. He was a passionate patriot.

He married twice but was divorced at the time of his death, leaving no children. Matt was a person who cared for and about others, especially friends and family. He provided end-of-life care for his mother and later, his sister. He worked in the security industry as well as transportation services.

Matthew was preceded in death by both parents and his sister, Cheryl A. Karraker. He is survived by siblings Dennis J. Colligan (partner Sandra Young), and Laurel M. (née Peterson) Rollins (brother-in-law Michael Rollins), nieces: Nikki Hall, Cassandra Studd, Amy Maddox, Kylieanna Willms, and Katelynne Mattingly, and nephews: Sean Rollins, Tyler Maddox, Austynn Maddox, Brayden Maddox, Ryder Curtis, and Colten Black.

The family will hold a celebration of life at the home of brother Dennis Colligan, details to be shared privately with friends and family.
