Mary (Mitzi) McIntosh passed away January 5, 2023 at the age of 87.
Mary was born July 10, 1935 in Rock Springs Wyoming, she moved as a child to Homedale, Idaho where she started school. Mary was very active in sports playing basketball and softball where she won the Babe Ruth Award. She made many friends and after her children were raised she would go on trips with Donna, Shirlee, and Judy, whom had been her friends since the 1st grade.
Mary moved up to Spokane in her twenties, where she went to business school and met the love of her life Don McIntosh; they were married April 11, 1959. They bought a home in Spokane Valley, Wa. Mom was a great seamstress and loved crafting with her friends. Mom and Dad spent many years at Coeur d'Alene lake at their cabin. Many many happy memories were at the lake with her children and grandchildren. She spent many years going to sporting events, Dad’s softball games, her children's sporting events and later on in life she started golfing and even got a hole in one. Mom had season tickets to the Gonzaga Women’s Basketball. She was Gonzaga’s number one fan and when a game was on everything stopped for her until the game was over.
Mom loved to travel and always said all she had to do was pack a credit card and she was ready to go. She went to China, the UK, Hawaii several times, Alaska, and toured the 48 states when Don retired. They traveled with family (Larry & Judy McIntosh) and friends and loved every minute of it.
Mom & Dad moved to Hauser, Idaho in 2003. Mom found her piece of heaven. She loved puttering around the garden, trimming her roses, sitting by the pond and watching the deer, moose, and turkeys strolling through the property.
Mary is survived by her children, Teresa(Dave) (Steve, Julie, Lisa), Gary (Kathy) (Breanne, Bryce), Denise (Heather, Danielle, Amy, Fallon), Marci (Jim) (Zachary Madeleine),14 great-grandchildren, and brother Frank (Delia).
Mom had a full life and loved spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was being a grandma. Everyone wanted to be her grandchild. If you were Mom’s friend you were her friend for life. We know that Mom is where she wanted to be, reunited with Dad. We will miss her everyday and are so grateful for all the time we got to spend with her. Please join us in a celebration of her life at 11:00 June 17, 2023 at Bell Tower Funeral Home Post Falls, Idaho.
