Margarita Borgens

April 10, 1935 — March 13, 2025

Grete “Margie” Borgens, 89, of Post Falls Idaho, passed away at Hospice of North Idaho with her family present on March 13th, 2025. She lived many years in both Renton and Ellensburg Washington prior to her joining her family in Idaho. Margie was born to Josef and Nedelka Schlosser on April 10th, 1935, in Plovdiv Bulgaria. Her family moved to Vienna Austria in 1943 during the war, and even though the war years were hard for the family, they made the best of their circumstances. She loved growing up in Vienna - a beautiful city with such history and world center for the arts, of which her favorite was music. She loved to dance and had such wonderful experiences which she loved to speak of; Especially meeting Ronald Borgens, whom she married in 1958, while he was serving on Embassy duty with the US Marine Corp. She immigrated to the USA with him and they lived and eventually retired together in Ellensburg, WA. For several years she worked at Saint Vincent de Paul, until Ron was debilitated with ALS. Margie became his full-time caregiver and was a blessing to him until his death in 2011. Margie had four older siblings – Maria, Anna, Emil, and Elfie who have preceded her in death along with her parents. She is survived by her son Jeffrey, daughter in law Mona, and granddaughter Jennifer. There will be no formal services, and she will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent with her beloved husband Ron.
