Margaret May Hansen, 94, of Spokane Valley Washington passed away December 6, 2013 at the Hospice House of Spokane, Washington. Margaret was born February 11, 1919 in Hill City, Idaho to Dale and Jessie (Francis) Rice.
Margaret attended and graduated from Boise High School in 1936. She then went on to the University Of Idaho. She worked as a grade school teacher in Idaho until she retired, and moved to California where she taught business at the high school and college level. She later became a personal executive secretary in California, and continued working as an executive secretary when she moved to Seattle, Washington, working for Port Blackely Mills.
Margaret met Marion O. Hansen and they were later married in Southern Idaho, Marion passed in January of 2010.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed reading, teaching, and learning new things.
Margaret is survived by four children Joanne (Chuck) Thorn of Springville, Utah; Michael O. Hansen of Bothell, Washington, Ronald Dale Hansen of Edmonds, Washington, and Michelle (Steve) Uptain of Spokane Valley, Washington; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 28th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints stake center 13608 E. 40th Spokane, Washington 99214. Burial will be at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Idaho.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bell Tower Funeral Home, Post Falls, Idaho.
