Marci Lebo

January 17, 1951 — February 23, 2022

Marci Lebo (Ogzewalla), beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in Spokane, Washington, surrounded by her five children and her loving husband. She was 71 years old. A bright and talented girl, Marci was born on January 17, 1951, in Salt Lake City, UT, to parents Weston and Rosemary Ogzewalla. She was outgoing and joyful, a cheerleader at University High School, who loved performing the U-High fight song for her family often. She was an accomplished pianist, who gathered everyone around the piano for rousing Christmas carols. She met Scott Gehrett in high school, and they married in 1971. Prior to separating, they had 5 children together - Peter, Hilary (Rex), Joel, Emma (Wright), and Jesse. Nearly 5 years ago, Marci was fortunate to marry her lifelong friend, Steve Lebo. They loved each other very much. Steve is a devoted husband and companion, who gave Marci all his support. Marci was a fighter and survivor, having battled and triumphed over cancer 3 times, withstanding the horrible side effects of treatment. Covid-19, sadly, proved to be too great an opponent. Marci devoted herself to her children, taking every opportunity to support them throughout their lives, being present for every football game, wrestling meet, piano recital, and music performance. She continued this tradition after her kids grew, making every opportunity to visit her children and grandkids. She traveled thousands of miles, usually by driving her car for days on end, to visit them whenever she could. She was a devoted, loyal friend, who loved to serve others. Friends described her as ‘a light in this world,’ and ‘a sweet woman, an example to others.’ Her joy was derived from the happiness she could give to the ones she loved. Marci is survived by her husband, Steve Lebo. In addition to her five children, Marci is mourned by eighteen beautiful grandchildren, along with her mother, Rosemary, and Marci’s three sisters, Jane, Rosy, and Susan. She is preceded in passing by her father, Weston. He and her grandmother “Grammy” Ford took Marci home to wait for the rest of us to be with them again. A memorial service will be hosted on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church located at 14111 E 16th Ave, Veradale, WA 99037. An informal visitation will take place from 10-11 AM at the same location.
