After 93 years on this earth, Lucile Marie Scott, passed away on February 21, 2012. She was surrounded by many of her family members. Lucile was born to Blaine and Margaret (Roberts) Starkey on December 27, 1918 in Boise, ID.
Lucile graduated from Boise High School in 1936 and married Cecil Scott on September 15, 1940. They met on her senior sneak during high school. She worked as an operator for the telephone company for a few years after high school. She was a stay at home Mom until her last child graduated from high school and then went to work for Lynes & Anderson Hobart Agency. She continued to work there until she was almost 80. Cecil died in 1986.
Lucile loved the outdoors. Her favorite spot was "The Bog" camp area on the top of Deadwood Mountain. No place had the sounds and good smells of "The Bog". Another favorite spot was Bull Trout Lake. Her grandchildren remember her for her crossword and word search puzzles, playing the organ, scrabble, dill pickles and clam dip.
Lucile is survived by her three children, Donna Scott Blaine, Post Falls, ID; Judy Scott, Boise, ID; and Steve Scott, Pasco, WA, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and her brother, Donald Starkey. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amy.
A private graveside service and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a Hospice of your choice.
