Linda Carol Smith (Murray/Heck), 76, passed on March 30, 2023 at Hospice of North Idaho. She will be missed by all.
Linda was born on March 5, 1947 in Vancouver, WA. She was born to Edward Hugh and Helen Pauline Murray (Tetz). She grew up in Vancouver, WA and graduated from Columbia River High School in 1965. She worked as an insurance office manager.
Linda’s first marriage was to Robert Larry “Bob” Heck on August 5, 1966 in Vancouver, WA. They were married for 15 years and had two children, Gary Edward Heck and Kristin Pauline Heck.
Bob Heck passed away in 1981 as a result of his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. On 12/3/1982 in Vancouver, WA, Linda married David James “Dave” Smith. They remained happily married for the rest of her life.
Linda enjoyed canning, puzzles, crossword puzzles, water aerobics, traveling, the ocean, crafts, and gardening. She also loved to shop, especially the clearance racks. She always prided herself on getting a good deal!
At a younger age, she enjoyed modeling, cheerleading, and dancing. But most of all, she was known for being an absolute sweetheart and a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body.
At her passing, Linda resided in Rathdrum, ID with her husband Dave. She is also survived by her daughter Kristin Owens (Ben), her son Gary Heck, and Amy Wilson, and Traci McMurray, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services for the celebration of Linda’s life will be held on April 16, 2023, 1pm, at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls, ID.
