> Larry A. Greensides went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Margaret Downing Greensides, as well as by his four children, Dr. Robert Greensides of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Marla Moyer of Coeur d'Alene, Mrs. Nancy Wilson of Moscow,Idaho, and Mr. Jim Greensides of Coeur d'Alene. He is mourned by them, by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jill, DV, Douglas, and Monica, by his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, but the mourning is held in the sure and certain hope of seeing him again at the Last Day.
Larry was a 23-year veteran of the Air Force, serving his country faithfully as a bomber pilot through the Second World War and Korea. Seriously wounded in the battle of Guadalcanal, it was just after his time of recuperation that he met his future bride in Laramie, WY. He retired in 1964 with the rank of Lt. Col.
He was a dedicated family man, active and fit to the end. He loved boating and snowmobiling, and giving the grandkids rides in the front bucket of his tractor. He lived a rich and textured life, and was full of many resultant stories. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
His family remembers him with honor and with grief, but it is not a grief without hope. We know that he has been gathered to his people, as we shall also be, and he now waits for us, walking in the house of the Lord
