Laura Sharon Scrabeck

Laura "Laurie" Scrabeck passed unexpectedly at her home on May 9th, 2021 in Hayden, Idaho at the age of 61. Laura is survived by her parents, Jim Buechner and Linda Buechner; her husband, Mike Scrabeck; children, Autumn (Matthew) Hulbert and Doug (Karli) Ulery; siblings, James Buechner JR. and Kelly Buechner, grandchildren Kelli and Johnathan. Laura was born on August 1st, 1959 in Arlington California to Jim and Linda Buechner. The family left California in 1968 and moved to Cocolalla, Idaho where Laura was raised with her siblings. In 1973 the family moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho. where she spent her teenage years. Laura met Mike in 1989 and married in 1991 in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. “Honey” is how they affectionately referred to each other from then on. Laura spent most of her time as a devoted mother, wife and home maker. During the years raising Autumn and Doug, they lived in Rathdrum, Idaho. After her children had grown and married, they had returned to Hayden, Idaho. where Laura and Mike enjoyed just being in each other’s company, listening to music and doting on their family. Laura was accomplished at handmade crafts. She was an avid Crocheter and loved to make blankets for her family and friends. She would also frequently embroider pillowcases, aprons, and many other things. She loved spending time with her parents, children, and grandchildren. Laura’s selfless nature and good will towards others will always be revered and admired to all that knew and loved her. A celebration of life potluck is scheduled for May 22 from 3pm to 9pm at Landings Park 3849 Long Meadows Dr. in Coeur D’ Alene. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Laura's life. There will be music and picture display. There will also be food and drinks provided by the family. Anyone who is willing can bring a side dish.
