Laura Maier

Laura Marie (Pixley) Maier, 75, of Coeur d'Alene, was called home to her Savior on February 4, 2012, while she was surrounded by family. Laura was born on July 31, 1936 in Seattle, Washington and spent her youth in Spokane. While nursing in Havre, MT, she met her husband Leonard. They raised their family in Great Falls and then Helena. She was a full-time mother for many years and then worked as a dental assistant. Laura then worked for the State of Montana for over 18 years, earning the distinction as one of the nicest tax collectors in the Department of Revenue. Laura spent her retirement years in Idaho helping raise 3 of her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Laura had a great passion for life and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, spunky sense of humor, and most of all, her love for the Lord and for others. She was a humble woman and had a servant's heart, always putting others' needs before her own. Laura had an encouraging word for everyone. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Laura is survived by her daughters Pam (Ron) Boggs of Helena, MT and Chris (Larry) Breazeal of Hayden, ID; grandchildren Grant Boggs, Tom, Nicole and Emily Breazeal; brothers Skip (Lenora) Pixley of MT Vernon, WA and Bill (Maria) Pixley of Nokomis, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her young daughter, Therese Maier, her husband, Leonard Maier, and her parents Laura and Morris Pixley. A Memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday February 19j6, 2012 at 4 pm at Hayden Bible Fellowship, 9140 N. Reed Road, Hayden. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of North Idaho.
