Larry Sappington, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15th, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and enduring faith.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne; his children Lori, Steve, and Lance; his brother, Donnie; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished deeply.
Larry dedicated his life to education, building a long and impactful career as an educator. He was passionate about shaping young minds and believed deeply in the power of learning. His influence extended far beyond the classroom, as he inspired colleagues, students, and community members alike with his wisdom and integrity.
Faith and family were at the heart of Larry’s life as a member of St. George Catholic Church. A man of deep conviction, he had a strong faith in the Lord and led his family with dedication and love. He was the proud patriarch—strong, fearless, selfless, and steady. His inner strength, unwavering work ethic, and confident leadership made him a powerful role model to all who knew him. Larry’s humble upbringing molded him to be a person who treated all who met him with honor and respect.
Larry loved sports, welcomed guests with warm meals, and was never happier than when his home was full of laughter and love. His presence was undeniable, his heart immeasurable.
He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever honored.
A funeral service to honor Larry’s life will be held at St. George’s Catholic Church (2004 N. Lucas St., Post Falls, ID 83854) on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 am. We invite all who knew and loved Larry to join us in saying goodbye and celebrating a life well-lived. A reception will follow.
