Kenneth Lee Owens

July 27, 1937 — February 2, 2019

It is with great sadness that our father, Kenneth Lee Owens, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 2, 2019 surrounded by family.

Ken was born July 27, 1937 in Kansas City Missouri and passed away in Post Falls, Idaho. He served six years in the United States Air Force and was retired from the United States Postal Service. Ken was an active member of The American Legion and The Fraternal Order of Eagles of Post Falls as well as in Missouri and California. He also volunteered at the Kootenai County Humane Society for many years.

Ken was proceeded in death by his wife of over 50 years Patricia Marie (Reagan) Owens in 2015, father Herbert Owens, mother Myrtle Lovellette , and step-father Lester Lovellette.

Ken is survived by his three children; Deborah Martin, James Owens, and Karen Owens; son in law Mark Martin; Grandchildren Jared Martin, Breanna Martin Lopez, and Zachary Martin; “adopted sons” Craig Morris and Chuck Humphreys; brothers, sisters, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews; and many amazing friends.

Our family would like to thank our father’s doctors over the years for their wonderful care. Also, a special thank you to the Hospice of North Idaho and the Schneidmiller House for the compassion and respect they gave our father at the end of his life.

No memorial service is planned per Dad’s wishes, but a celebration of his life will occur Saturday, February 9, 2019 at The American Legion 1138 E. Poleline Ave, Post Falls ID 83854 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
