Kaye was always interested in traveling. It was this driving force that took her from a small town in Manitoba to Toronto, Canada. There she worked for the Canadian Government. Her travels took her to faraway places like Cuba and Hawaii. It was in Hawaii that she met the love of her life, Fred. She was on vacation, he was in the Navy. They married in 1953 and settled in Vermont. Their first child, Debra Gail was born in 1954. In 1955 they moved to California. Their son Richard was born in 1957.
After moving to California, Kaye worked for an insurance company for many years. After retirement, she began to volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital and the Pomona Valley Hospital. She loved her time as a volunteer and served over 6000 hours. She and Fred also enjoyed traveling. They went on over 15 cruises and many land tours including China and Africa. She was also an active member of her church choir. In 1998 they were selected to sing for the Pope, and off to Rome she went.
After Fred passed away, Kaye moved to Idaho to be closer to her family. At age 90 she continued to keep herself busy by volunteering at Kootenai Medical Center. Her job was to deliver flowers and cards to patients. She loved her many friends that she made there.
The family would like to thank George and Kim Ciccone and the wonderful staff at Country Comfort Assisted Living for their loving care and attention to mom during her stay with them.
