June Grace Ries, 90, died July 17, 2012 at the Hospice House of North Idaho with her son Bob and daughter Nancy at her side. June was born June 25, 1922 in Queens, New York. June is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Grace Faint, her brother Robert, and her husband Ralph. Her family moved to California when she was only one, where her father worked in the Motion Picture business. She later met Ralph Ries and they were married on June 27, 1943, and were happily married for 68 years until Ralph's passing on January 3, 2011. June and Ralph moved to North Idaho after Ralph retired from the Motion Picture business in 1973. June was active in many charities and was one of the founding members of the 3Cs. She was an avid quilter, an expert seamstress, an excellent gourmet cook, and an accomplished artist. Her oil paintings hang on many of the walls in homes of North Idaho. June is survived by her son Bob (wife Betsy), daughter Nancy (husband Bill Carlson), brother Donald and sister-in-law Nanette Faint of Camerello, CA, grandsons Ryan Ries (wife Casey), Phil Carlson (wife Angela), Tim Carlson, granddaughter McKenzie Carlson, great grandson Elliot Ries and great granddaughter Eva Ries. The family is extremely grateful for the amazing care and hospitality given by the Hospice of North Idaho, as well as their care center, the Hospice House. Another thanks is given to Bell Tower Funeral Home for their services and arrangements.
