Judy Wiester

Judy Kathleen Wiester, 67, of Rathdrum, Idaho passed away January 24, 2014 at the Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho after one week, but she was ill for three years. Judy was born June 19, 1946 in Tacoma, Washington to Russell and Aileen (Poitras) Hammond. She attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Tacoma Washington in 1964. She then went on to Clark College in Vancouver where she received a degree in liberal arts. While working for Western Electric Company in Vancouver, Washington Judy met Gary, and they were later married July 14, 1973 in Vancouver, Washington. Together they resided in Clark County Washington where they raised their family. Judy and Gary moved to Rathdrum, Idaho in 2007. They were married 40 years when Judy passed away. Judy worked as a teller and account representative for First Independent Bank in Battle Ground, Washington for over twenty years. While they lived in Battle Ground, she was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, the General Federated Womens Club. In Idaho she was a member of the "Divas" dance team in Coeur d' Alene. She also attending the CUMC in Coeur d' alene, Idaho. She loved horses, trail riding with friends, exploring parks and wilderness throughout the Pacific Northwest on horseback and also with her husband Gary and their dog, Molly. She enjoyed camping and going for walks, as well. Judy is survived by her loving husband Gary Wiester of the family home in Rathdrum, Idaho; two daughters Wendy Domingo of Idaho, and Stephanie Johnson (& husband Mike) of Washington; ; two grandchildren Cole, and Evan Johnson of Washington one sister Joan McShane of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Sally Snartland. A memorial service will be held Friday February 7th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Community United Methodist Church 1470 W Hanley Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to United Methodist Women at the Community United Methodist Church at 1470 W Hanley Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.
