Lifelong Anaconda native Joyce E. Burch, 74, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 23, 2013 at her son's home in Spokane Valley Washington following a brain aneurysm. She was born in Anaconda on March 15, 1939 to Marion Claude and Selma (Johnson) Kenfield. She graduated from Anaconda High School in 1957. She served in the United States Air Force from 1958 through 1961 at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. After her honorable discharge she attended LPN school. She worked for over 40 years as an LPN at Galen hospital, Montana State hospital at Warm Springs, and as a home health care nurse in Anaconda. She retired from Montana State Hospital in 2001. Her hobbies included; reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, gardening, camping, watching NCIS on TV, and spending time with family. She also liked to play pool, bowl, and play shuffle board. She also enjoyed trips to Hawaii and most recently a trip to London and Paris. She is survived by her son Patrick and his wife Deanne (Wagstaff) Burch; grandsons, Jacob and Mitchell; sister Marian Geary and her husband Jim of Wichita Falls, Texas and their six children; and lifelong friend Linda Kelley. She was preceded in death by her parents Marian Claude and Selma Kenfield; and husband LeRoy E. Burch. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Crackerville, MT on July 6 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Pintler Pets.
