Joy Marie Farris 89
Joy Marie Farris passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Life Care Center in Post Falls where she had been residing. Joy was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on August 17, 1925, the middle child to Esther and Romeo Barriel with brothers Robert and James (deceased) Barriel.
Joy's family lived in several places in the Silver Valley before settling on Coeur d'Alene. Joy was preceded in death by her husband Merle Eugene Farris. Joy had children Marie Eileen Burris and Steven John Mauhar and step children, Linda Dennler and Lee Ann Crouch.
Joy was loved and treasured by all who knew her. She had a heart so big that she made friends and family wherever she went. She worked hard her whole life and after retiring from 25 years with the Forest Nursery in Coeur d’Alene, she spent her time sharing everything she had with everyone she met. She left a mark on all who knew her and was loved beyond measure.
Joy had a wonderful family and extended that with her daughter in law, Eileen Mauhar (Bright), her step grandchildren Jeremy and Wendy Dennler and her granddaughter Erica Mauhar who gave her the gift of a great grandson, Jonas Zachary Mauhar, whom she loved so incredibly much.
As her granddaughter writing this I cannot express my sorrow enough that such a wonderful, thoughtful, caring, loving person has left us. Life will be a little less brighter and happier without her. I loved her with my whole heart and am glad to hear from friends that stories about her remind them of me. She helped shape who I am and will forever be missed.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 8th at her son, Steve's house,ID along with his 60th birthday.
It breaks my heart to write this. In her memory a single act of kindness would be greatly appreciated. Pay for someone's groceries, give your neighbor kids a small gift, donate to your local humane society. Just be kind and share it. That is how she lived her life.
