John W. Trople passed away on December 13,2016 with his wife and his family at his side. He had been hospitalized at Sacred Heart Hospital since November 3rd after suffering a stroke while living at Rose Point Assisted Living. John was born on February 27, 1932; the youngest of six children to Albert and Muril Trople of Wasta, South Dakota.
He served in the Navy; retiring from the Navy in 1978 after 23 years of service to his country. John had many careers over the years; selling insurance, real estate, fireman and finally as owner of Idaho Fire Extinguisher Company. He was a hard worker, who liked talking to everyone he met. He always had a story or a joke to share. When asked how he was doing; one of his favorite sayings was “Never felt better or had less”, and he was one to share advice in “never take a wooden nickel” or “keep your powder dry”. He would go out of his way to help someone in need. He loved animals; many a time, strays became part of the family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Esther; his daughter, Shawn Trople Lusarreta of Spokane, granddaughter, Caitlin (Aaron) Guehrn, grandson, Justin Lusarreta of Spokane, sister, Pat Gillen, sister-in-law, Doris Trople and many nieces and nephews around the country.
A memorial service for John will be held on April 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Bell Tower Funeral Home 3398 E. Jenalan Ave. Post Falls, ID.
