Jimmy E. Taylor, born May 16, 1946, in Santa Anna, Texas passed away at the North Idaho Advanced Care Center in Post Falls, Idaho on Dec 12, 2012 at the age of 66 of respiratory failure. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He graduated from Santa Anna High School in Santa Anna, Texas and then served in three military branches. 5 months Army, 4 years Navy, and 18 years Air Force, moving over 13 times and serving also in California, Texas, Alaska, Washington DC, Montana, Missouri, Turkey, Germany, Spain, and finally Washington State. He retired from the Air Force in 1988 and started a new career with the US Federal Attorney's Office in Spokane, WA, retiring in 2007. He'd been a bowling coach, Little League baseball coach, Little League baseball director, volunteer at Special Olympics, and a Red Cross Volunteer. He loved Country Western music and you'd often hear him whistling a happy tune or humming a song. His passion was shopping at Cabelas, target shooting, playing the harmonica, and taught himself to play the guitar.Preceded in death by both parents, Joe R. Taylor (Gouldbusk, TX) and Helen L. Cruger (Santa Anna, TX). Previously married for two years to Mary Haynes of Santa Anna, TX. SURVIVED BY: his wife of 42 years, the former Michele (Probert) Harlow originally from South San Francisco, CA; two sons, Michael (Melanie) Taylor of Spokane, WA; James (Dragana) Taylor of Spokane, WA; three sisters, Mary (Joe) Hazlewood of Bedford, TX; JoAnn Sauveur of Waco, TX; Patricia (Plezz) Turnbow of Quinlan, TX. Grandchildren: Cameron Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Alexis Taylor, Eli Taylor, Blake Dewey - all of Spokane.In-laws: Susan (Fred) Schott of San Leandro, CA; Larry (Lynnette) Nerney of Daly City, CA; Steve (Myra) Nerney of Boulder, CO; MLou Summer of Ft. Worth, TX; and Blou Baker of Southlake, TX. Nieces/Nephews: Christopher Hazlewood, Amy (Sauveur) Devorsky, Jeffre Sauveur, DeAnna (Turnbow) Franklin, David Turnbow. Also Frederick III, Timothy, James Schott; Elizabeth Revelo, Jennifer Nerney, Edward & Daniel Nerney; Amanda and Samantha Summer; Kevin and Scott Lemos.You are cordially invited to attend Jim's memorial service at the WA State Veteran's Cemetery in Medical Lake on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 2:15pm with full military honors. A gathering was held at the home on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 3pm for family and friends.
